Roger Sherman, acclaimed film director of “In Search of Israeli Cuisine,” the portrait of a people told through food and conflict, will be the Israel and Overseas Center’s special guest. He will be screening excerpts from his sequel, ”The New Face of Israeli Cuisine,” with an interactive opportunity for questions and reflections. In this interactive follow up, Roger will show scenes not included in his first film and discuss each scene with our audience.
Roger brings wit, warmth, and a wealth of knowledge about Israeli culinary traditions and the exciting new directions Israeli cuisine has taken. His extensive experience documenting the Israeli food scene is sure to add richness to the evening. Roger’s films have received two Academy Award nominations, an Emmy, a Peabody, and a James Beard Award. His first film played in more than 160 film festivals, appeared in special screenings around the world, and has been shown in theaters across the United States and Canada.
