Event Details

We are pleased to welcome Dr. Jeanne Abrams back to share her film, knowledge and expertise!

The area of politics was especially important to American Jews, for the United States offered the first occasion in history to allow them to participate as full citizens and their religious heritage emphasized communal responsibility. Jews who migrated to the American West in the 19th and 20th centuries encountered unprecedented opportunity and acceptance as pioneer community builders, who helped construct basic institutions, and from the beginning Colorado Jews took a central role in the state’s political development, many serving as councilmen, mayors, and representatives, one even going on to become a U.S. senator from Colorado. $5
