A Grand Opportunity for Inter-Generational Experience
JEWISHcolorado, in partnership with the Jewish Agency for Israel (JAFI), is launching an innovative, year-long Jewish experience specifically for grandparents and their grandchildren, ages 10-11: G2 is designed to explore meaningful connections, family narratives, and legacies around Jewish experiences.
With cohorts from cities and countries around the world, each North American city partners with an Israeli partner city for the duration of the program, and the program culminates in an inter-generational trip to Israel. There, all program participants from the Diaspora and Israel unite for an incredible week as one global Jewish family. The Colorado cohort will travel to JEWISHcolorado’s partnership region in Israel, Ramat HaNegev.
“This is really designed for grandparents who want to take a more active part in their grandchild’s Jewish journey,” said Dr. Julie Lieber, Chief Jewish Life and Engagement Officer. “Grandparents are a pivotal and untapped resource in transmitting the value of a committed Jewish life to younger generations. G2 creates meaningful opportunities for inter-generational communication and relationships.”
Here at JEWISHcolorado, the G2 program will operate under the umbrella of our new Israel and Overseas Center, which was created in partnership with the Zeff Kesher Foundation. The Center works to build a stronger and more dynamic relationship between the Colorado Jewish community, Israel, and global Jewry.
