Hold your spot for JEWISHcolorado’s 2024 Joyce Zeff Israel Study Tour; Registration is open
(DENVER) — Registration for JEWISHcolorado’s 2024 Joyce Zeff Israel Study Tour (IST) is open, as tour planners monitor the war in Israel with an eye on safety and security.
Registration and refund deadlines have been adjusted to reflect the changing situation. The $500 deposit is fully refundable until January 15, 2024. All registered participants are eligible for at least $4000 in grants and scholarships from JEWISHcolorado, RootOne, and more depending on Colorado synagogue affiliation. Need-based scholarships are also available, and the application deadline is January 1, 2024. The current price of IST is guaranteed until February 1, 2024. Prices may increase after.
IST is considered to be one of the longest-running community Israel trips in the U.S. and has been taking Colorado Jewish teens to Israel since 1971. A month-long trip to Poland and Israel, IST builds lifelong friendships and connection to Jewish community. Any current high school junior connected to the Colorado Jewish community is eligible to register for the trip.
“Safety is our top priority as we plan for our IST 2024 June departure,” said IST Director Jillian Feiger. “We are in communication with trip coordinators, travel providers, and nonprofit partners across the country; and are confident that we will be able to safely travel to Poland and Israel this summer.”
Families are encouraged to register for IST as soon as possible, so they can be included in communication and monthly pre-trip programs. Sessions are held in-person and rotate locations and facilitators around the Denver Metro area. A Zoom option is available for participants outside of the Denver Metro area.
“Now more than ever, it is important for our Colorado teens to experience Jewish community and Israel and to learn and be connected to their heritage,” said Feiger.
