Important Update: Israel-Hamas Ceasefire

Jan 15, 2025 | Article, JCRC

To our JEWISHcolorado Community,

JEWISHcolorado and the Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) welcome the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas. This moment brings renewed hope for the safe and swift return of all hostages and marks a first step to alleviating suffering in the region.

Here in Colorado, the impact of this conflict has been deeply felt. Some have used this difficult time to spread harmful narratives that amplify antisemitism and hate. These actions have added pain to an already strained moment, deepening divides and making it harder for our local our communities to feel safe and to work together.

We encourage all Coloradans to use this moment to reflect, heal, and work toward reconciliation. While the path ahead may be uncertain, we can take steps locally to reject hate, embrace empathy, and envision a future rooted in understanding. Together, we can create a community that is strong enough to bear our pain and bold enough to dream of peace.
