Join the American Jewish Community’s National Mobilization Week
December 7, 2023, marks two months since the October 7 attacks. Israel remains at war, but Jews across the world will light the first Hanukkah candle and continue to mobilize for Israel before the chance to do so has passed. Join us in action and:
- Listen to this week’s session at the UN about the horrific sexual violence that was perpetrated by Hamas terrorists. Even as the attacks of October 7th were unfolding, evidence was already being seen of acts of brutal sexual violence. Subsequent investigations have revealed the widespread extent of the violence; they include an in-depth report by The Times of London that found that perpetrating sexual violence was part of the stated mission of the Hamas terrorists.
- Call your elected officials to let them know that you support Israel in its just and moral battle to defeat Hamas terrorism. Enter your zip code and contact your elected officials.
- Join a special webinar with the Jewish Agency for Israel: Israel’s Fight for Survival – A Discussion with Dr. Einat Wilf and Dan Elbaum tomorrow, Thursday, December 7, at 10 AM ET. Register here.
- Invite at least ten people to join you in this community-wide effort in support of Israel by sending them the campaign link.
- Read the latest Jewish Federations’ leadership message on our next steps to support Israel.
- Watch and share this story of 19-year-old Naama Levy, the great-granddaughter of Holocaust survivors. Naama is a young activist who participated in the Hands of Peace project in the U.S. towards co-existence between Israelis and Palestinians. She was abducted by Hamas terrorists from her army base and was filmed being dragged away by a gunman and pulled by her hair, with her pants covered in blood.
- See the 10/7 Project, a new collaboration between Jewish Federations, AJC, AIPAC, ADL, and the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations. The 10/7 Project is a coordinated effort to counter the disinformation about the attacks of October 7th and Israel’s response; it is especially aimed at the key media and government influencers. This news bulletin shares more about the 10/7 Project.
- Light a great light on Thursday, December 7th, the first night of Hanukkah. Join with Jews across the world to “defeat the darkness and take part in setting a Guinness record by lighting the first Hanukkah candle at the local time where you are and thus convey a powerful and determined message of unity and victory to the world.
National Mobilization Week
In coordination with several major Jewish organizations, JEWISHcolorado, the Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC), and Jewish Federations of North America are joining a “National Mobilization Week” this week, December 4-8, 2023, to encourage members of our communities to call their representatives and urge them to support Israel.
The purpose is to flood their lines with pro-Israel calls during this four-day period and ensure that they are not just hearing from anti-Israel constituencies (which, as we understand, they currently are in droves). We need to urge Members of Congress to ignore calls from pro-Palestinian activists to restrict or even stop the flow of American aid to Israel.
Please call (or contact via their websites) your elected officials and ask that they strongly support critical security assistance for Israel in its fight to destroy Hamas.
