As the Denver Public Schools prepare to announce new high school graduation requirements for the fall that will emphasize Holocaust and genocides education, 9News turned to JCRC Director Dr. Dan Leshem to learn more about the significance of this milestone. This comes after JCRC led the drive, along with dozens of community partners, to pass the Holocaust and Genocide Education Standards bill in 2020. Of course, we still face the significant challenge of educating teachers across the state to enable them to transmit Holocaust and Genocide education with the most up-to-date and reliable resources.
