Ready. Set. Summer!
You remember those long summer days when it sometimes felt like there was nothing to do? So does PJ Library and, once again, they’ve come to the rescue of kids and parents all across Colorado, with special Summer Kits designed to silence those plaintive cries of I have nothing to do!
PJ Library has parents covered. This summer’s Kits contained a Mini Mitzvah project, recipes for Watermelon Soup (yum!) and Moon Sand (yum?), a summer Bingo game, and seed packets. The kits also included summertime necessities—and perennial favorites—like sunglasses, sidewalk chalk, bubbles, stickers, sunscreen, and, of course, a PJ book!
In July, JEWISHcolorado handed out over 100 PJ Library Summer Kits. Pick up spots were located in Boulder, Aurora, Highlands Ranch, and our very own JEWISHcolorado building on South Dahlia Street in Denver, and moms drove from far afield (places like Northglenn, Westminster, Arvada, and Morrison) to pick up a Kit. We feel you, moms!
None of this work would be possible without our friends and partners at Rodef Shalom, Boulder JCC, and PJ Parent Connectors Alyssa Swall (Aurora) and Deborah Toole (Highlands Ranch). Thanks to everyone who made our PJ families’ summers a little less monotonous and a lot more inspiring.
