Update on the Current Situation between Israel and Iran

We are closely monitoring the situation in the Middle East and are in very close and continuous communication with our partners at JFNA, including an emergency meeting on Friday afternoon. As you may have read, Israel is bracing for the possibility of a multiday attack from Iran and its terror proxies, as early as today, with “waves of missiles, rockets, and drones fired at Israel from numerous countries at once.”

Multiple news organizations report that, in security briefings over the weekend, Israeli ministers were told to be ready for any scenario and that an attack could lead to “thousands” of sites in Israel being destroyed. Meanwhile, the Iranian regime, reportedly told Arab diplomats that it doesn’t care if its attack triggers an all-out war.

Over the weekend, Israeli leaders reiterated that the IDF is prepared to defend itself and respond forcefully against anyone who attacks the Jewish state. IDF Spokesperson Daniel Hagari reported, “We have a high readiness to act.”

The commander of U.S. Central Command, General Eric Kurilla, will reportedly arrive in Israel today to finalize coordination with the IDF on plans to counter an Iranian attack. The Pentagon is simultaneously moving more military assets into the region, including additional fighter jets and warships, and “is preparing for every possibility just as we did in advance of April 13, when Iran attacked Israel,” U.S. National Security Deputy Adviser Jonathan Finer said yesterday.

Of course, escalated events in Israel always mean we need extra safety and security vigilance here at home, and we are working diligently with our SCN security officers, Phil Niedringhaus and Kevin Farrington, to ensure our local community’s safety and protection. If you have questions regarding local threats, please contact Kevin Farrington.

We cannot recall a more perilous time for the people of Israel that is coupled with broad global implications should a regional war ensue and, while we anxiously wait to see what happens, we pray for the safety of the State of Israel and its citizens.

We will continue to keep you updated as we learn more.
