We’ll start the morning with a short, active, and interactive Tot Shabbat service at 9:00 for younger children and their families, ending with snack and schmooze time.
At 10:00, we join together (b’yachad) for an all-ages, joyful, song-filled Shabbat service aimed to appeal to all attendees including families with children who are school-aged. During Shabbat B’Yachad, our “tots” can stay with parents or engage in fun activities in a nearby classroom.
We’ll conclude with a light kid friendly potluck lunch. We hope to see you!
Please register to let us know how many to expect, and if you can bring a vegetarian dish or help with set-up and clean-up.
This service occurs on the first Saturday of every month at B’nai West (1700 S Grant St). Please check our website for the registration!

Join us on Yom Ha’atzmaut (Israel’s Independence Day) for a thought-provoking and interactive conversation inspired by the Humans of Israel photography project. This unique exhibition captures the faces and stories of Israel’s diverse society—ultra-Orthodox Jews, Muslims, Christians, asylum seekers, and members of the one percent on Rothschild Boulevard. Through powerful images and narratives, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of the people who shape Israeli life.
We are honored to welcome Erez Kaganovitz, TEDx Speaker and the photojournalist behind the exhibition, who will guide the discussion and share deeper insights into the stories behind the images. Unlike a traditional lecture, this event is an open discussion where the audience is encouraged to participate in a meaningful dialogue. Using additional photos beyond those in the exhibition, we will explore topics such as Israeli society, the vibrancy of Tel Aviv, preserving Holocaust memory in the age of social media, and the resilience, strength, and hope of the Israeli people—especially in the wake of October 7th.
Celebrate Yom Ha’atzmaut with us as we engage, reflect, and connect through the human stories that define Israel today.

We could all use some laughter, and Congregation Beth Evergreen has just the ticket. Literally! The entire community is invited to Beth Evergreen’s Annual Comedy Fundraiser with hilarious comedian John Novosad (a.k.a. “Hippieman”) – live and in person on Sunday, May 4, at 3:00 p.m.
Tickets are $36 (age-appropriate for 16 ), which includes John’s stand-up performance, an opening music act, a Jewish Food Auction, and light refreshments (margaritas and a nacho bar). Childcare is provided for $5/child, which includes a live magic show for the kids and snacks. All proceeds benefit Congregation Beth Evergreen. Please register here.
A powerhouse of humor on stage, John is a stand-up comedian based out of the Comedy Works in Denver. He has performed in clubs, theaters and bars across the country. John made his network debut on “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson” and appears on Byron Allen’s nationally-syndicated Comedy TV. And on May 4, he will be live on Congregation Beth Evergreen’s great stage!!
Opening for John will be Denver’s very own 5280 A Cappella. Named one of the “Top Vocal Groups” in Denver, 2019 Winners for “Album of the Year,” and nominees in 2018 for “Pop Group Of The Year” by the A Cappella Music Awards, 5280 A Cappella brings a burst of infectious energy through their voices and non-instrumental repertoire of rock and roll, jazz, country, folk and pop.
In addition, Rabbi Jamie Arnold will be sure to “ham it up” as the whimsical auctioneer at the annual and iconic Jewish Food Auction, sharing those hard-to-find traditional Jewish delicacies with a twist that you do not want to miss.
The comedy fundraiser event is being held in person at Congregation Beth Evergreen, 2981 Bergen Peak Dr., Evergreen. Parking is available in the Beth Evergreen lot, and overflow parking at Rocky Mountain Academy (up the hill). For additional questions or information, email shalom@bethevergreen.org or call 303-670-4294.

Presented in partnership with the Hartman Institute and the Boulder JCC
American Jews have long been united by shared commitments to liberalism, equal rights, and inclusivity, but recent challenges to democracy have revealed deep ideological rifts within the community. From debates over Zionism and Israel’s policies to divergent visions of Jewish political engagement in America, these divisions are reshaping how Jews understand safety, power, and responsibility. In this session, we will explore the historical models of Jewish security, the ideological frameworks shaping today’s debates, and how these tensions reflect broader societal shifts. Participants will be invited to consider new approaches to Jewish thriving that bridge divides and align with enduring Jewish values in a rapidly changing world.

Join Chabad of South Metro Denver for a brand new course “Wrestling with Faith”
Most people, even the most devout, struggle with issues about God. We sit in the synagogue during the High Holidays and affirm the essentials of Judaism in theory, but when it comes to trusting God with our daily lives, we share a secret, painful fear that God isn’t really looking out for us.
Many have been brought up under the assumption that mainstream science is incompatible with genuine Jewish faith—so when they see compelling evidence for biological evolution, for example, they feel forced to choose between science and their faith.
Wrestling with Faith was created for tackling questions like these, the “big issues” that keep people from intimate faith with God. In Wrestling with Faith, we acknowledge the often unspoken doubts and questions that all people share—as we share their invitation for us to dig deeper for the answers.
In Wrestling with Faith, JLI offers a steady and inspiring voice to help us reaffirm and understand our faith in a world where nothing seems solid or permanent. Drawing upon 3,000 years of Jewish knowledge, as well as a storehouse of literary, psychological, and theological insights, the course examines the fears and doubts that challenge us. It is in these struggles to find meaning that the course lays out a path for belief in a world struggling to find faith; but perhaps more important, it helps us find our own rhythm within which to walk that path.
