Conversation with Israeli Hostage Negotiator Mickey Bergman

Coming to us from negotiations to release the Israeli hostages, Mickey Bergman has made hostage negotiations his life’s work and spent over a decade freeing people wrongfully held by some of the most complex and insulated countries and regimes.

Nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize in 2019 and 2023, Bergman will discuss his newest book, In the Shadows, which releases on June 4. Told from his position as a special-operations veteran of the Israel Defense Forces and director of the Richardson Center for Global Engagement, this fascinating tale recounts Bergman’s work to help free Brittney Griner, Otto Warmbier, Paul Whelan and others from foreign prisons.
