We all have hopes and plans for the future. But what strategies can people actually use to achieve their desired goals? During this workshop, you will be guided through a motivational strategy called WOOP–Wish, Outcome, Obstacle, Plan–that has been scientifically shown to help people achieve their goals and overcome obstacles hindering their life satisfaction and happiness. Notably, WOOP has effectively altered people’s behavior and attitudes in numerous domains, from shortening recovery times after surgery, to helping people find success with romantic interests, to improving performance on a variety of tasks. WOOP is also an autonomous self-sufficient strategy, meaning that after the workshop you will be able to use WOOP on your own without any help from the presenter or other psychologists.
