The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum was created to educate and remember the Holocaust, but also to bear witness and prevent genocide around the world. The Simon-Skjodt Center for the Prevention of Genocide works to alert the national conscience, influence policymakers, stimulate worldwide action to prevent or halt acts of genocide or related crimes against humanity and advance justice and accountability. The Center seeks to put a spotlight on communities that are neglected, and that are experiencing or at risk of mass atrocities. In doing so, to do for communities today what was not done for the Jews of Europe during the Holocaust.

Naomi Kikoler is the Director of the Simon-Skjodt Center for the Prevention of Genocide. She will be in conversation with Lindsay Kaplan about the Center’s work and how they prevent tragedies around the world. Naomi is a leading expert and strategist on mass atrocity prevention, international human rights advocacy, and human rights law.

This presentation will also be available via Livestream.

Presented by Lindsay and Gregg Kaplan in partnership with the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum and the Ilona Irene Rosenschein Holocaust Education Fund at the Boulder JCC.
